Soldier's Notes

 

Private John Layaou, Company C, enlisted in August of 1862 and served a term of three years, participating in the battles of Second Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg. He served under General John Sedgwick in Sixth Army Corps, Smith's Division, Third Brigade.

Corporal Clinton Bartlett Fay, Company G, was wounded at Antietam and subsequently received a disability discharge.

Corporal Nathaniel N. Rice, Company G, enlisted on 26 September 1861 at Fortsville, New York and was 27 years old at the time of his enlistment. He was mustered out on 29 November 1862 at Albany, NewYork, after being wounded atthe Battle of Antietam.
